It is absolutely unreal to me that FANGIRLS has been made a prescribed text for HSC drama students. (Under the Topic of Contemporary Australian Theatre Practice).* It’s also wild to me that some teachers decide to teach FANGIRLS… just because?!

📚 If you’re teaching FANGIRLS: 📚

First of all: I love you.

Second of all: At the link below, you can purchase a recording of a ZOOM workshop I’ve done about how to use FANGIRLS as a text in the HSC. (It directly addresses the rubric)

Its packed with exercises you can bring into the classroom, and comes with FREE slides, packed with quotes, video links, and juicy info about the Artistic / Social / Cultural / Political / Personal concerns of the work.

✍️ If you’re a student studying FANGIRLS:

Have fun! Sorry if I can’t reply to your DM asking for help with your essay.

Also: the HSC can be so stressful and I’m so sorry about that. What I remember about doing the HSC is constantly comparing myself to everyone else, and getting nowhere near enough sleep. I really don’t reccomend this approach. So, I wish you a year that is as stress-free as possible, and full of deep REM sleep.

*If you’re not from Australia - that means that some students in Australia have to study FANGIRLS in their final exams.
